It has not been more than a couple of weeks since my last “trip” and already I feel the soles of my feet itching. It wants to go somewhere… anywhere. Come to think of it, I think I spent most of my Christmases in my home base, or around it. I wonder if I should try to spend it elsewhere in the future…?

I agree with the consensus that the best way to explore one place is to hit its pavements and walk around. Sure, it can become exhausting on the legs, but nothing will get you more up close and personal with a place than by walking its streets. Yes, even when there is some drizzling going around. The continuous showers certainly did not deter us from our original plan of walking around Samcheongdong that day.

(Oh, summer, you tease. You just love to bring on the rain, don’t you.) I first went to Palawan, particularly Puerto Princesa, back in 2008. We had a work-related convention, we worked for 4 days, and slummed around for 5-6 days. And by “slumming it”, I meant island-hopping, beach-combing, and living it up in a luxury resort called Club Noah Isabelle (which is now called Apulit Island) then heading over to El Nido for another couple of days. Those days remain etched in my memory because that’s the first time that I, a girl from the boondocks, spent THAT much amount of time in the water, lack of swimming skills notwithstanding.
