October has come and gone. Another month more and it’ll be time for feasting and binge-ing on all those Christmas treats. Part of me looks forward to how the spread would look like, although I dread potential difficulties in fitting into my work uniform, haha! But, let’s not worry about that yet, shall we? For the month of October, I’m bringing you to four places to eat in Baguio City and La Trinidad.
Whenever I do my daily commute to and from work, I am usually engrossed watching or reading something on my phone, I am barely aware of what’s happening. Well, except for lifting my head from time to time to check where I am, and making mental calculations how many more minutes I’d need to be on the road before I make it on time for work. So I was not aware at first about the existence of this restobar at Km. 5. It wasn’t until several months ago that I heard of it, and just a couple of months ago that I finally got to personally check it out. It’s called The LOFT Restobar.

It appears that new restaurants, coffee shops or food kiosks/stalls spring up around Baguio City, and the central business district (CBD) area is not an exception. Every time I find myself walking up or down Session Road, I only have to lift my gaze up and see a new sign advertising the fact. On one of those walks, I spotted a sign that said RECESS, and so I made it a point to check it out, by myself at first, then with company the next couple of times.
A quick update on a stormy Friday night. At least, on my corner of the world. Nothing more comforting when it’s cold and dreary (and pouring) than a cuppa joe and some cake, dontcha think? And if you’re anywhere near La Trinidad, there’s this place that you should check out for their selection of baked goodness and comforting drinks!
While I was going through my albums for this FoodVentures post, I realized one thing: I kinda ate out too much this last month of September. And went to a couple of places more than twice. Tee-hee. No regrets, though.
(Guyzzzzz, I found the pesto pasta that hits my tastebud in all the right places!!!) My hunt for breakfast places has certainly introduced new coffee shops and breakfast nooks, and one of them is the Read and Brew Cafe, located at the SkyZone, the rooftop of Porta Vaga Mall in Session Road, Baguio City. It’s been several days since my SoKor2017 adventure wrapped up, and I still feel like it has been a whirlwind of a week. Which it was. One heck of a fun whirlwind. I still haven’t touched the folder where I saved all the photos and videos I took during that trip, knowing I’m in for quite a challenge. A fun one, I hope. “Where to eat in Baguio?” is a question oft asked that, in hindsight, makes me want to scoff a bit. Several years ago that question would have made me pause and think hard for a while, because there aren’t too many options. At present, however, that question would still make me pause, but for an entirely different reason: it’s because there are simply too many options, you’d have to weigh them and choose a real good one. Funny, too, because at every turn, you’d find a place to eat.

If I were to be serious about blogging about food, I’d definitely suck at it. I’m too un-picky about food, and am easily satisfied so being a food critique is out. Also, I’m not really the type to eat out often, or venture somewhere out of the way to check out a new place to eat, at least not on my own or purposefully so. The first time I saw construction work starting on this building right across the street to where I work, my curiosity got piqued when I saw the sign saying “Naruto”. I thought an anime-themed store is going to open real soon, and that it was such a weird location for one.
(UPDATE as of June 2018, Naruto Japanese Restaurant in this location is already closed.)
